Three Tips for Great Wedding Day Photos

Planning your nuptials? Read these three great tips from photographer Christina Rogers of CR Portraits (www.crportraits.com). Christina’s wedding portraits are featured in the Victoria’s Bridal ad of the March/April issue of Jefferson City Magazine (pages 8-9) and with this blog. Check them out for ideas to capture the romance on your own wedding day.

1. Take time to meet with your photographer before your wedding day.

Shooting your engagement session is a fun time to get to know how your photographer works and get a feel on how he/she will be on your big day.  At CR Portraits, interacting with the couple we are going to be photographing gives us a chance to get to know how they work together. Are they shy with each other? Or do they like the camera and understand how to pose?

2. Communicate your expectations with your wedding party.

Let them know what to expect the day of the wedding, what time to arrive and that they need to stay around until the photographer has given the OK for them to leave.

3. Consider appointing a bridal assistant.

Someone there to help the bride through the day seems to always be something of a blessing for the bride (and for us, as photographers)! It never hurts to have a friend there to help you when your mind is already going in so many directions. They always seem to keep the bride a little more relaxed. Tension will show in photos if the bride is stressed, so enlist help to make the day go as smoothly as possible!
