Editorial Designer

I'm Jack, CITY's editorial designer! I handle the overall layout of the magazine and the design of the features you read in our publication. I first began working at CITY in 2022 while I was studying fine art at William Woods University (go Owls!), beginning as an advertisement designer before eventually becoming the magazine's full time editorial designer. I'm passionate about art and design, and I feel most fulfilled when I'm creating. In my free time, you can find me reading strange books, spending time with my loved ones, wandering in the woods, or haunting one of Jefferson City's many wonderful antique stores.

For me, graphic design is all about creative storytelling, using photos, illustrations, and typography in concert to set the words on a page in motion and bring them to life. Design also involves some level of social responsibility, especially in a small town where you have the potential to affect real change. In my role at CITY, I strive to use design to uplift my community and help make our already beautiful city an even more beautiful and vibrant place, one page at a time.
