Publisher

Welcome! I’m Quinn McCurren, publisher of Jefferson City Magazine and a Jefferson City native. I graduated from Helias Catholic High School and the University of Missouri before life took me a little farther from home. After college, I followed my now-husband, Michele, to Rome, Italy, where I spent the next five years teaching English in the Eternal City. In 2023, we traded Rome for my hometown and made our way back to Jefferson City. A year later, I joined Jefferson City Magazine as associate publisher before eventually stepping into the role of publisher.

I have a soft spot for places with a little Mayberry charm, local history, old-world interiors, and people who make you want to pull up a chair and hear the rest. I’ve always believed there’s beauty to be found in the mundane and am drawn to good storytelling in just about any form. It’s a privilege to look a little closer at the people, places and everyday details that make Jefferson City worth calling home, and to help shape the stories we tell about them through CITY. Outside of CITY, I find the most peace outdoors, especially along the Katy Trail or near the Missouri River. I love playing tennis, reading David Sedaris, channeling Ina Garten whenever company is coming, and plotting my next escape, preferably somewhere with a beach.
