Hey, I'm Stephanie. I've had the privilege of being the copy editor for Jefferson City Magazine since 2023. I graduated from Blair Oaks High School and then went on to receive a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in English education from Truman State University. I started my teaching career as a learning specialist in the Upward Bound Program at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, and I eventually returned home to teach at Blair Oaks, where I've taught high school English for the past 18 years. I wasn't always a grammar Nazi, but I turned into one after years of reading student essays and preparing students for the ACT. I am thankful that I was asked to join this team of amazing people because I love reading all the stories in the magazine. I have learned so much about our community that I didn't know before taking on this position. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to audiobooks, and kayaking on the Osage River.
